Yesterday, Jet.com opened a 160,000 square-foot west coast warehouse and distribution center in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. Jet.com plans to hire 150-180 employees this year, and within the next five years they will hire for another 350 positions. Following the announcement, Lt. Gov. Hutchison issued the following statement:

“It has been a tremendous few months for Nevada’s economic growth, and this announcement is no different. I want to welcome to Nevada and thank Jet.com for choosing our great state. I’m proud that Jet.com recognizes our strong workforce and I’m confident that many companies will follow suit.”

In addition, Lt. Gov. Hutchison praised the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) for its work in making Nevada home for Jet.com.

“I also want to thank EDAWN for all of its hard work and commitment to this project. EDAWN’s dedication to ensuring a better economy for our communities and our state is paramount to the success we continue to see in Nevada.”
